The much-anticipated trailer for Barroz, Mohanlal’s directorial debut, has been unveiled, marking the return of Mollywood’s iconic star in a new creative role. This children’s fantasy drama, centred around a ghost and a hidden treasure, promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
Mohanlal has chosen a visually stunning, VFX-heavy subject for his first venture behind the camera. The film is set to release worldwide in 3D and multiple formats on December 25, making it a perfect treat for the holiday season.

Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor collaborated once more on this extremely important endeavour, with Mohanlal serving as the title character. Production on the film Barroz began in March 2021 and the unit was shot in Kochi, Gao, Bangkok and Chennai, among other places. The film was shot in 3D because it is a children’s movie.
To the delight of adult film enthusiasts and the admirers of the veteran actor, the movie’s producers released the theatrical trailer on the evening of November 19. Film enthusiasts are responding favourably to the trailer, which had over 2.5 lakh views in only two hours.

Barroz tells the tale of a treasure guardian who oversaw Vasco da Gama’s vast fortune, which had been hidden for more than 400 years. Additionally, he is expected to give it to the real Gama scion.Mohanlal, Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Guru Somasundaram, Komal Sharma, Ignacio Mateos, Tuhin Menon and Kallirroi Tziafeta are among the actors who star in the fantasy drama. The film’s music and score were written by Lydian Nadhaswaram and Mark Kilian and it was financed by Antony Preumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas label. Santosh Sivan was the cinematographer and B. Ajithkumar was the editor.
The first schedule of Barroz began on March 24, 2021, but it was formally confirmed in April 2019. COVID and other issues caused the construction to be delayed. The film had to be reshot from scratch even though some of it had already been shot. The film’s continuity suffered because of the COVID-19 delay since many of the kids who starred in it had physical changes.
